Luisa Montalvo was born and raised in South Texas. She worked at Abbott Laboratories for 25 years before retiring at the age of 53. Luisa joined Toastmasters International in 1989 for 4 years, then rejoined in 2013.

She placed 2nd in the International Contest in 2019 and in 2024, she became Toastmasters World Champion of Public Speaking and is the first Hispanic to achieve this honor.

For the last 8 years, Luisa has been rescuing and transporting homeless dogs across the U.S., and has fostered over 1,000 dogs. She finds joy in saving animals, inspiring others through her speeches and making friends along the way. Her mission is to make her mother proud.

Joe Grondin, DTM, AS is a retired educator and is now, with the guidance of his toastmaster family, fulfilling his dream of being an international inspirational speaker. Joe is the founder of Speak to Reach and has coach many speakers on how to develop a speech that can reach any audience. He is the author of the books “Living in Harmony With Our Children” and “Speak to Reach” and has been asked to speak throughout North America on these topics.

Joe has been busy traveling the globe to pursue his passion of public speaking participating in the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking. He is a ten-time District Champion having qualified seven times for the world championships and successfully placed in the top 10 on two occasions. Joe is a three-time TEDx speaker and earned the prestigious Accredited Speaker designation from Toastmasters International in 2017 becoming one of 92 people in the world who hold this distinction. Joe does admit that his biggest accomplishment is getting hugs from his grandchildren.

Joe is a “FEEL GOOD” type guy and takes any opportunity to sing and dance in public, much to the dismay of my family. The last time Joe did his song and dance in public his children ran for cover.
